It may be summer, but it’s time to think about your youth ministry’s calendar for fall! BGAV is offering a fun weekend retreat for youth October 11-13th at Eagle Eyrie, and it’s only $95 if you register before July 1st! Load up the church van and head to the mountains with your students for time away to grow in faith, connect with others, and make fun memories.
This year’s theme is Time to Thrive where students will have the opportunity to explore what it looks like to find freedom in Christ. This weekend is planned with both youth and leaders in mind. There will be breakout tracks for middle and high school students geared toward their unique stages of life. They can meet students from other churches as they engage in Bible study, creative projects, and discussion about what faith looks like in their context. Youth leaders will also have opportunities to learn from and connect with other youth leaders. Aside from breakouts, attendees can expect to have meaningful times of worship, reflection, and response.
A youth retreat wouldn’t be complete without a healthy dose of organized chaos and laughter, so the schedule will allow time for big group games, free time, and recreation. Students will work together in teams to compete in the messy Olympics on Saturday. Leaders will need to be ready to cheer as their youth battle for the gold medal on the recreation field!
We are so excited to offer this experience for youth and their leaders because we believe that young adults are a vital part of the church. Our goal is to build up a community of leaders who are called to serve and encourage the next generation. We believe that in order for us to do this, it’s important for leaders and youth to have opportunities to deepen their faith, connect with others, and share God’s love with their community. We want to see churches and communities thrive as they seek to love God and love those around them.
