Impact Missions began as a “brand” for us back in 1995
when Baptist General Association of Virginia (BGAV) held its first Impact Virginia! mission camp. These camps grew in their success, popularity, and meaningfulness and continue today as one of our hands-on opportunities for students and their leaders. In 2021 the Mission Development Team of BGAV (which operates the Impact! Mission Camps) chose to capitalize on the reputation of those camps and brand all its hands-on missions and ministries under the name Impact Missions. Each of the programs and ministries has had its own success in so many ways and we knew that all of them had such a deep and meaningful impact across the globe that the term just made sense.
Our roots are firmly within BGAV which remains as our governing body and “home” for all that we accomplish. Being a part of BGAV is not just important to us – it is who we are. And yet, we are more, just as BGAV is more than its name might suggest. Read more about BGAV here.
