Recently, Alan Donaldson, General Secretary of the European Baptist Federation, was awarded the Order of Merit (3rd Class) by President Zelenskyy for humanitarian services to Ukraine.
We are thankful, and Alan emphasised that this medal is a recognition of our global Baptist family—the incredible response coordinated by the EBF and carried out faithfully by local Baptist churches in and around Ukraine.
At the same ceremony, Elijah Brown, General Secretary of the Baptist World Alliance, also received a similar distinguished award. Virginia Baptists have been partners with the European Baptist Federation (EBF) for many years – including being a part of the response to the war in Ukraine. We share in this high honor (along with many other global Baptists) bestowed upon the EBF and BWA.
