Impact Disaster Response is currently developing an initiative to provide tiny homes to people whose homes are damaged beyond repair during a disaster. These homes can be temporary housing while a new permanent home is constructed or can be permanent housing for some homeowners. And we need your help to ensure we are ready when the next disaster strikes.
We anticipate having several builds next summer in partnership with local churches who will host the build at their site and work with us to provide teams to oversee the construction of each home. They will be stored until needed for a storm.
We see a lot of potential for future development beyond disaster situations – we are in conversation about tiny homes as a method for addressing affordable housing in communities and other housing-related needs.
