Love One Another
-by Cadance Tyler
Scripture: John 15:12
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.
Reflection:
God is love and sent Jesus, the perfect example of that love to the world. As followers, we are supposed to love our neighbor just as we have been loved. We can be quick to think that this verse in Scripture is easy, but is it? It’s easy to love those who love you back. Is it easy to love other people when they don’t agree with you? Is it easy to love your enemies? Is it easy to love strangers? Love isn’t always easy, but that doesn’t mean that we give up.
Even when it’s hard, God is telling us to keep loving others. This doesn’t mean that we can’t set boundaries in toxic situations. God wants us to be safe. This command is telling us that as believers, we must strive to live a life that’s so marked by love that everyone will know who it is that we worship. God’s love should send us into the world as a peaceful and loving presence in our homes, places of work, and communities.
This week, choose to be loving in your words and actions. Lead by example and think of other people. Make the decision that Jesus would want you to make. Love just as Jesus loves you.
