Being a part of the Impact staff team this summer was such a great experience and important step in my relationship with God. I am going into my senior year of college and had not been to Impact for four years, but I felt the Lord calling me to serve at Impact this summer–so I listened! One of my favorite parts of being on staff was getting to know the homeowners we served by hearing their stories, praying with them, and learning from them. Another thing that was very important for me was learning from the youth leaders and gaining some insight into youth ministry, as that is an area where I have felt the Lord leading me. However, the most impactful part of this summer for me has been the personal call that the Lord has placed on my life, which is to serve those in need in my own community. Everyone is in need of the Lord’s redemption. In order to share his love I feel called to help meet people’s physical needs as well, such as providing food and clothing for those who need it. Coming home from Impact I hope to start serving with some local ministries in my community to provide for those who are struggling the most.
