Have you ever encountered someone experiencing a hard season in life, a loss, or a disaster and wish you had some better tools to care for them?
Impact Disaster Response will be holding Crisis Care Team training February 24-25 at Spring Hill Baptist Church in Ruckersville, VA. This training is a first step to becoming a credentialed member of the spiritual care arm of Disaster Response, but also provides really helpful information and exercises to equip you to care for anyone in need of spiritual and emotional support during a crisis. Topics covered include: Basics of Crisis Intervention, Understanding Traumatic Stress, Encouragement Through Listening, Loss and Grief, Spiritual First Aid, Diversity, Suicide Awareness, Working with the Media, Children and Trauma, Senior Adults and Trauma, and Resiliency for the Spiritual Care Provider.
